A set of steel guitar through the turn of the century until now, with many famous
steel guitar players on hand to make it interesting!
This informative and super-cool set featured Duke Ching (Don Ho's steel guitarist), Norm Hamlet (of Merle Haggard's Strangers),
Pat Quilter, Jeremy "J.W." Wakefield, Joel Paterson,
Dave "D.B." Berzansky, and Chas Smith, demonstrating the
evolution of the steel guitar from its acoustic Hawaiian origins through the
electric lap steel, the early non-pedal steel guitar, the classic pedal steel guitar,
and even a wild futuristic vision of where the instrument is headed!
An accompanying exhibition in the Geekfest guitar museum included some very famous
celebrity-owned pieces.
