The Shaddicts -- America's only Shadows tribute band -- opened the show.
In the swinging London scene of the 1960s, Cliff Richard's backup band the
Shadows was the British equivalent of the Ventures -- a masterful instrumental group with a
style all its own. A righteous cult has grown around their hits such as "Apache,"
"Man of Mystery," "Kon-Tiki" and many others. The Shaddicts, or the "Shadows Addicts,"
are a group of guitar geeks beyond compare, from their matching Burns Hank Marvin
guitars and basses to their matching Vox AC30 amps!
