On the Road Fall 2000 |
![]() Wow! Look what we stumbled across in Montgomery, Alabama! One of the coolest custom cars we've ever seen -- a promotional truck for the Alabama Beef Association! ![]() The Ecco-Fonics at the famous Berlin Wall in Germany during our European tour in October. We played at a club on the east side of Berlin, right next to this existing piece of the Berlin Wall! ![]() This is a typical audience in Spain -- a bunch of unruly crazy mofos! ![]() Here we are in front of the original Gibson guitar factory in Kalamazoo Michigan, with the original 1920s smokestack that spells out Gibson! ![]() While going through Montgomery, Alabama, we got to stop at Hank Williams' grave. We played "Ramblin' Man" on our ghettoblaster. ![]() ![]() Whenever we go to El Paso, Texas, we always try to make it across the border to Juarez, Mexico -- wild border town of legendary ill repute!!! Damien made himself a friend too! ![]() ![]() We got to play 3 shows with the legendary LINK WRAY in Spain. Here's Link and me backstage in Barcelona. ![]() The coolest motel we've ever stayed at is the Mountaineer Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. Hillbilly-themed motels touch my heart deeply. ![]() The Ecco-Fonics make the scene on the narrow winding streets of Madrid! Good thing Damien could speak pidgin Spanish! ![]() In Clear Lake, Iowa, lies the perfectly preserved Surf Ballroom, which is the last place that Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper played before their plane crash. You owe yourself a visit if you ever go from Minneapolis to Kansas City! ![]() Passing through Jackson, Michigan, you have to stop by Ted Nugent's wilderness outfitters! He sells the most ridiculous stuff, including bumper stickers that say "I love animals -- they're delicious!" |
